Sunderland have been really impressive at home, as they are the ONLY unbeaten team with a W7 D5 L0 record so far, scoring 21 goals and conceding just 9, which is also the 2nd best home defense behind only Arsenal and Manchester City. They held Man City to a goal-less draw, Arsenal to a 2-2 draw, Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw and beat Newcastle (among others). Now Liverpool are coming to town, and Sunderland will look to extend their unbeaten streak, as they also held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in Liverpool earlier in the season.
Liverpool are still struggling with stability issues, they did show signs of life beating Qarabag by 6-0 in the Champions League and then Newcastle by 4-1 in the EPL, but fell to Man City by 2-1 at home over the weekend, and also lost Szoboszlai to a red card. That's a key absence, as he was playing out of position at the Right Back, where Liverpool are hurting a lot this season.
It's anyone's guess as to how Liverpool will react after their loss to City, but looking at how hard Sunderland is to beat at home, I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to extend their unbeaten streak. OK, at some point their streak might come to an end, but my hand can't go against that at -135 odds (on Liverpool's ML).
