MLB Home Run Prop Picks, Predictions and Odds
Plenty of dominant pitchers take the mound tonight in Carlos Rondon, Noah Syndergaard, Michael Kopech and many others. So finding a couple players to blast one out will be slightly more difficult than usual tonight. Sportsmemo content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his home run prop predictions and picks for Tuesday, May 3 with odds provided by DraftKings.
Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Jose Abreu (+640)
In arguably the biggest interleague rivalry in the league the Cubs and the White Sox go head-to-head tonight and the Sox are ready to feast. That starts with Jose Abreu with only two home runs on the season so far and it’s time for him and the Sox to get on track.
He’s 6-11 in his career against Cubs starting pitcher Drew Smyly with three extra base hits including a home run. The team is only 3-10 in their last 13 games and after six straight games at home, perhaps a slight change of scenery will reverse their recent losing ways.
Also, Smyly in his last two starts has allowed six earned runs in 9.2 innings pitched including four home runs.
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Juan Soto (+390)
Juan Soto has been average to say the least so far this season for a Nationals team not expected to do much overall.
They’re in Colorado where the ball is known to fly out of the park and Soto presents decent numbers against Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez going 3-8 with one home run in his career.
Soto needs to start racking up some home runs and RBIs soon and what perfect place to start than tonight with the Nationals as a team getting it going recently taking two of three in San Francisco. Look for Soto and the Nationals to keep the offense going tonight in Denver.
