Nationals vs Diamondbacks Prediction and Spreads
Sportsmemo MLB analyst Eric Pauly offers his Washington Nationals vs Arizona Diamondbacks preview for Thursday, April 21. After only four runs scored in their previous four games before last night, the Diamondbacks exploded for 11 last night against the Nationals. Can they keep that offensive momentum up for today’s game?

Nationals vs Diamondbacks Analysis
On Thursday evening, the Nationals and the Diamondbacks will conclude their four-game series in DC. Righty Zach Davies will take the bump for Arizona while lefty Josh Rodgers will be on the mound for Washington. The Nationals are -125 favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 9 runs.
Rodgers Looks to Cement Series Win For Nationals
Washington has dominated this series so far and they are looking to win this series vs Arizona. Washington struggles offensively and on the mound, but in this case, they are the better team. The Nationals have a team batting average of .227, an OBP of .303, and a slugging percentage of .314.
Josh Rodgers will make his third start for Washington this season. Rodgers had a great start in his first appearance this year, but the 27-year-old struggled in his second outing. Through two starts, Rodgers has allowed four runs on eight hits in 9.2 innings.
Davies Needs to Bring it For Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks came into this season with low expectations, and somehow they are playing even worse than advertised. Arizona has the worse offense in all of the major leagues. The Diamondbacks are batting .168 as a team with a .282 OBP and a .281 slugging percentage, all bottom five in the league.
Righty Zach Davies will make his third start for Arizona this season. Davies is 0-1 and the Diamondbacks have lost both games he has started in. Over 9.1 innings in two starts, Davies has allowed 11 hits, four walks, and four earned runs.
Nationals vs Diamondbacks Prediction
Despite how bad they are, I expect the Diamondbacks to beat the Nationals and I recommend them at +115 for this matchup. There is not much to love about Arizona, but I think they have the better pitcher in this matchup and I think the Diamondbacks can squeak out a win.
It may be a lower scoring affair since both of these teams are horrible at the plate, but Arizona is due for a win and this would be the game for them to do it.
Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks Moneyline (+115)
