You could say both of these teams did not end their regular season the way they planned on to, especially Louisville. Coming into this game, it just feels like Louisville has to win this one, almost like a must win. Louisville demolished Syracuse in their meeting earlier this season, as Syracuse was having match up problems all game and had no answer for Jordan Nwora and the Cardinals 3 point shooting. Louisville is winning by an average of 12.7 PPG, one of the biggest in all of the NCAA. The Cardinals will have a huge rest advantage heading into this game. Lousivlle last played on Saturday, while Cuse had to play last night, and I'm not certain Syracuse can do two offensive performances like that in a row. Especially vs this TOUGH Louisville defense. The Cardinals play much better defense and shoot much better from the field and 3 point range. Louisville is shooting 38% from 3 beyond the arc, Syracuse is only shooting it at 33%. This is going to be a huge problem as Syracuse's biggest flaw on defense is their 3 point defense, it could potentially be bombs away again tonight. Louisville is limiting opponents to 30% shooting from beyond the arc, very impressive. Defense and rebounding wins games and that's what Louisville does way better than Syracuse. The Cardinals are also outrebounding Syracuse 37-32 per game. That is a pretty big discrepancy. Just like the 1st meeting, it's a bad match up all around for Cuse. Nwora will negate anything Elijah Hughes does and the Cardinals very balanced attack will take care of the rest. Louisville needs to taste a win again, and they get a big win tonight. Lock in the Cardinals.
