(951) Washington Nationals at (952) Miami Marlins
5% - Miami Marlins -138 P Corbin (LHP), R Weathers (LHP) Must Start
Before you get all worked up, I have some solid reasoning with the pick on the Marlins today. Yes they come in 2-13 at home, and yes they are only 6-22 overall. We have a big advantage in the pitching department today as Ryan Weathers comes in with a very respectable 2-2 mark with a 3.16 ERA. In his last 4 starts he has gone 21.2 innings and given up a total of 6 earned runs. Meanwhile his counterpart Patrick Corbin has had all kinds of struggles. Corbin has given up a whopping 20 earned runs, in just 27.2 innings on the season. Hence Corbin comes in with an 0-3 mark and 6.51 ERA. Washington has struggled when playing on the road at Miami as they have lost 9 out of their last 14 in the Sunshine State. The Nationals have won the first two games of the series, but this is going to be their toughest test going against Weathers today. Corbin faced the Marlins one time last year and gave up 4 runs on 11 hits in 6 innings of work. Also Corbin has been horrible on the road going 0-2 with an 8.82 ERA. Weathers comes in off a solid home performance against San Francisco where he threw 6 strong innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 10. Kind of unique as typically the series would end today on Sunday, but the teams play at loanDepot tomorrow wrapping up what will be a 4 game series. Bottom line Weathers is pitching very consistent for the Marlins, and Corbin has not for the Nationals. I am gong with Miami as they take down Washington today.
