(915) Texas Rangers (916) Kansas City Royals
5% Texas Rangers -122 J Gray (RHP), D.Lynch (LHP ) Must Start
The Rangers and Royals have split the first two games of their season with each team winning in blowout fashion. Today in the rubber game Texas sends out Jon Gray to the hill. Gray has been outstanding all season for the Rangers, and in his last 30 innings he has given up just 4 earned runs. On the season Gray comes in with just 2 decisions at 1-1 but an outstanding 2.48 ERA. Gray as had 2 starts against the Royals in his career with an excellent 1.98 ERA Daniel Lynch goes for Kansas City and he has not seen Big League action since last July. Lynch has been called up from the Royals Triple A team to start today. Lynch has not faced the Rangers in his 3 year career. The best that Lynch has done in the big leagues is 3-4 with a 4.64 ERA. Kansas City is off to good start at 20-14 but today is going to have to contend with a Texas line up that is in the zone coming off a 15 run outburst yesterday, and that was without hitting a HR.The win by Texas yesterday snapped a 3 game winning streak that the Royals had. Both teams come in averaging a tick under 5 runs per game on offense at 4.9, but the Rangers have the overall better batting average at .252 as opposed to .238. With Texas coming in today off their RED-HOT hitting performance, and with the pitching match up favoring them, I look for them to take care of business today. Rangers take 2 of 3 from the Royals.
