7:45 PM ET: Mets +120 at Cardinals
New York looks to continue St. Louis' struggles and snap its own three-game skid after coming up short in Tampa Bay despite being in every game, which somehow makes their shortcomings feel worse. Pete Alonso is getting a night off amid a 2-for-36 slump, so not having him out there is inconsequential. I see the Mets coming together and stringing together a productive inning or two against Kyle Gibson in support of Sean Manaea, who has labored in most starts in being unable to work into the sixth inning since his first start, but has still allowed more than two earned runs only once in six outings. We'll take a shot with the Mets and the over as 2% plays in this series opener between slumping NL squads.
