3%  Take Tampa Bay – Toronto OVER (#919-920)

To say the Rays lineup is on fire right now would not be an overstatement.  The results do not lie.  The Rays have scored 9, 10, 6, 8, 9, 8 and 7 runs in their last seven ballgames; going 7-0 to the Over during that span.  Toronto, too, is seeing the ball as well as they have all year offensively.  They’ve scored four or more in nine straight games, averaging seven runs per game during that span.  Even at the pitcher friendly Trop, these two lineups merit a total higher than 8 right now.

Rays starter Charlie Morton has been showing real signs of vulnerability lately after eating up innings for much of the season; unable to complete the sixth three times in his last five starts.  Behind him, this bullpen is dealing with real fatigue issues; the long term effects of seeing Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell both languishing on the DL.

Jays starter Jacob Waguespack has six big league appearances this season.  This will be his third appearance against Tampa, who have already scored six runs in nine previous innings against him.  Waguespack has issued more walks than strikeouts in his last two starts and he’s been giving up fly balls in bunches – this is not a hurler with ‘positive expectation’ advanced metrics stats, to put it mildly!  And the Jays bullpen behind him is anything but fresh after getting used extensively all weekend in Baltimore.  Expect runs in bunches!  Take the OVER.
