    3%  Take Washington (#952)

Erick Feede has made 24 starts over the last three years for the Nationals; mostly mediocre.  Two starts ago, he endured arguably the worst start of his career, allowing nine earned runs in 3.2 innings against Atlanta.  His quote following the game: "Baseball's a game where it's going to happen. You've just got to brush it off as fast as you can.”  Last time out, Feede was a completely different hurler, throwing six innings of shutout ball against the Royals; needing only 75 pitches without issuing a single walk.  He’s certainly got ‘bet-on’ potential today in this near pick ‘em price range, especially with the Nats returning home off their momentum changing win against the Mets on Sunday.

The Reds, on the other hand, are coming off a pretty tough loss.  They had a chance to win their series against the Cubs, leading into the seventh inning yesterday, but a bullpen meltdown snapped whatever momentum they had.  This is a ‘red flag’ quote from manager David Bell, following yesterday’s devastating defeat: "We have to come out tomorrow and play. That is the only way to bounce back. If you spend time thinking about missed opportunities, it is a losing attitude."  And it’s surely worth noting that Cinci has only one win in Anthony Desclafani’s last five road starts, dating back to the beginning of June.  Take the Nationals.
