The PLAY: 1H Colorado Rockies +110 C Quantrill (RHP), A Brooks (RHP) Must Start
9:40 PM ET: Rockies ML +110 at A's
34-year-old Aaron Brooks, back with Oakland for a third stint after making his first appearance for the team back in 2015, is back in baseball after a stint in the KBO, time in the minors and stints witha a handful of other big-league teams. He looked sharp in allowing just three runs over seven innings in Houston but got no run support in a 3-0 loss on May 15 and now faces a team that will have some new tendencies to study and try to capitalize on. Cal Quantrill has a run of six quality starts going over his last seven outings after a rough start to 2024, sporting an 0.92 ERA over 19.2 innings this month. Colorado is 0-for-the bay area so far after getting swept by the Giants, but didn't have to travel to prepare for this series, has the edge on the mound and looks like a live ‘dog in these first five innings.
