Stanford enters 2025 projected to finish at the bottom of the ACC, and oddsmakers reflected that in their preseason win total of just 3.5 (-170 to the over). The Cardinal opened as a road favorite in this matchup, but sharp money has steadily come in on Hawaii, flipping the line to Rainbow Warriors -2 at most shops.
Frank Reich steps in as interim head coach for Stanford, bringing NFL experience, but he inherits a roster short on depth and talent. This opener in Honolulu is a critical game for the Cardinal—if they can’t win here, clearing that win total becomes a steep climb.
Hawaii, on the other hand, has some momentum. The Rainbow Warriors finished 5-7 (3-4 MWC) last season and head coach Timmy Chang has them trending upward. Their season win total is set at 5.5 (-170 to the over), suggesting oddsmakers see real growth potential. Importantly, Hawaii has been tough against the number at home, covering five straight in Honolulu.
Given Stanford’s uncertainty and Hawaii’s continuity and home-field advantage, this feels like the right spot to back the Rainbow Warriors. We agree with the market move—Hawaii should control this one late and win as the small home favorite.

The Guardians took the opener of this series 3-1 last night, and they’ll look to keep things rolling behind Tanner Bibee. Bibee hasn’t been lights out this season (4.54 ERA, 1.28 WHIP), but he’s been steadier than Arizona’s Eduardo Rodriguez, who carries a 5.40 ERA and 1.62 WHIP into this matchup.
Arizona has been a bankroll killer in 2025, down -1116 units for backers, and they’ve dropped four straight games. Their bullpen remains a liability, while Cleveland owns one of the more reliable relief groups in the AL. The Guardians also still have playoff motivation, sitting just three games back of the final wild card spot.
Given the pitching edge, bullpen advantage, and motivational spot, Cleveland is the side here.
