My friends, I've been in this business one way or another since I was 10 years old with football sheets in the schoolyard, and I must tell you I just don't understand the line here. As of posting this play, I see the Browns a favorite of 8.5-points. This line actually went up when it was announced Joe Flacco was going to get the start (check status). Normally I would look to fade a team like the Rams in their final preseason game. I mean, they are expected to slug it out with the 49ers in the NFC West this season, and accumulate approximately 9.5-wins. But going back to last preseason, this team is 4-1 straight up, and 5-0 against the spread. They actually try in August action. Not only that, but they have a list of backup quarterbacks competing for better slots. They also have a couple of solid rushers as well in the backfield. The way they outlasted both the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers this preseason, tells me they're trying to get their fans excited, and the team some self-esteem. While the Cleveland Browns are making headlines. They aren’t expected to do much this season. Most people feel they'll finish last in the AFC North, and tally just 5.5-wins. While this preseason they have won and covered both outings against the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles, over recent preseason games, they have not tried too hard. Will they actually jeopardize some of their starters here? Perhaps, but not for too long. I mean the last three preseasons they only won two total games straight up. While they do have a slew of known quarterbacks on this roster at the moment, if any of them were very good, they would be starting for other teams. As far as Joe Flacco goes, he is 40 years old. Enough said about that. At the running back position, they're a little lean, my friends. I just feel this is way too many points for this team to lay against a team that is trying to get their fans excited about the upcoming regular season. Take the points with the Los Angeles Rams. The PLAY: Denver Broncos -3.5 (-108)

My friends, sportsbetting is all about the value the line gives you, and I will tell you, if the line in this contest between the Broncos and the Saints were under 3.0-points (3.5 as of post), I would've definitely made it a premium play. It was announced Spencer Rattler (check status) would be starting for the New Orleans Saints. What does it really matter? This is a team expected to finish last in the NFC South, and win just 5.0-games. This team is horrible. I think their quarterback situation is mediocre at best. While they do have a good running back, most of the backups are untested. I did say most, not all. Having said that, this is a team that really doesn't put forth too much of an effort in preseason play. The last four preseasons, they have more losses than wins. This preseason they have yet to win a game, losing their opener to the Chargers 27-13, and tying the Jaguars last week, 17-17. They don't have too many stars, and I doubt very much the head coach will jeopardize any of them for too long here, if at all. On the other hand, the Broncos are in a very competitive division in the AFC West. They are expected to win 9.5-games. I believe that might be a stretch. But they are still predicted to win almost double-digit games. This is a team that last preseason went 3-0, both straight up, and against the spread. This preseason they are already 2-0, winning and covering games against the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals. As a matter of fact, they have scored opponents by a combined 57-16 this August. My point is, they try in preseason, folks. They have some recognizable names in backup positions, both a quarterback and running back. They have depth, my friends. As I mentioned at the beginning of this analysis, I feel if this line would've been under a field goal I would've taken the Broncos as a premium play. But I still lean on them to win and cover here.
