Let me start this breakdown by saying I think the oddsmakers are pretty smart here. They know the general public already leans on the Philadelphia Eagles because they whooped the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. But throw into the mix the Eagles took down the Cowboys last week in their season-opener, while the Chiefs dropped a tough one to the Chargers. They're putting out a line that looks too good to be true. But I think they're looking to bear trap you here. I love the Eagles. I think they're one of the most complete teams in all of football. And let's face it, they haven't dropped the game since prior to Christmas. One thing we've grown accustomed to is not seeing the Chiefs lose too many games, let alone back-to-back games, which is what they have done dropping the Super Bowl and Week 1 of this season. Last week's loss was uncharacteristic for the Chiefs, even though they averaged 6.0 yards per play, they had two failed redzone trips, and 10 penalties. This is a game Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and company has had circled since the schedule came out. Granted, they lost a receiver. But the Eagles also lost one of their anchors on their offensive line. Earlier in this breakdown, I said Philly is one of the most complete teams in all of the NFL. This is true. But one thing they don't have is Patrick Mahomes. The general public is gonna’ be all over the Eagles here, and the line is going to go up. And as it does, I am waiting patiently to hit the Chiefs strong. I feel they win this game, and make a statement to the NFL. Take Kansas City.

It's no secret prior to last season’s road loss to the Gators, the Tigers dominated their conference rival, winning and covering five straight matchups. Playing in “The Swamp” certainly changes things. This matchup is at Tiger Stadium where LSU enjoys beating up visitors. Especially ones they get to exact some revenge on from a prior loss. They opened up this season with a big road win and cover at Clemson, and did beat up on Louisiana Tech last week. But was a bit flat in possibly a letdown situation. That's why I feel they come back this week and make a statement. Florida opened their campaign up by shellacking LIU, only to get caught looking last week, losing to South Florida 18-16, as an 18.0-point favorite. Maybe they were looking to head to this matchup this week. But I think they're in real trouble here, folks. Rumors are starting Gators quarterback D.J. Lagway is not 100% healthy (check status). Nussmeier might not be as flashy. But he's got the talent, the leadership, and certainly has the receivers. If this line was a little bit lower, I would've made it a premium release. But I still like LSU. Thank you.

Maybe some people feel UCLA starting the season at 0-2, both straight up, and against the spread, will compel this team to come out strong here this week. I feel after starting the season off getting slaughtered by Utah at home, 43-10, if they were going to bounce back, it would've been last week on the road at UNLV when they were downed by seven-points as a 1.5-point favorite. Going back a bit, this team hasn't covered a game since the first week of November last season, failing to cover five consecutive contests. Meanwhile, New Mexico is 1-1, starting their season off on the road, and competing against Michigan, then outrunning Idaho State last week. It does bother me a little bit they failed to cover as a 17.5-favorite against the Bengals. But it is what it is. Going back to the last season, this team has now covered six of their last 10 outings, which does include four of their last six played as a visitor. I feel the Lobos are a very game squad, and certainly have some talent. Giving them better than two touchdowns, I feel as a mistake. Especially when the Bruins are laying it. UCLA still has proven to me that they can lay this much wood. Take the points with New Mexico. Thank you.

I think the line is a little short here, and I do understand why. The Wildcats are just 1-2 straight up, and have failed to cover all three outings this season. They aren’t looking too good, folks. Going back a while, they have been point spread poison, failing to cover five straight, and eight of their last nine contests. But if they're going to make a run at this season, they must turn it around this week. Yes, I do put some stock in the "due for" factor. While Arizona is 2-0, both straight up, and against the spread, and their defense has allowed a total of nine-points, they haven't played anyone yet. Taking down the likes of Hawaii and Weber State isn't too tough of competition. K State is definitely a step up in class. If you recall, a season ago Kansas State took down Arizona at home, 31-7. They have that momentum, and psychological edge coming into this year's matchup. Maybe Arizona comes in here a little too overconfident, and it turns around to burn them. Take Kansas State. You may not realize it because the Dodgers seem to receive most of the headlines in the National League West, but the Padres are sitting just 3.0-games behind them in the division. San Diego needs wins right now, and facing Colorado, should be just what the doctor ordered to do just that. The Rockies are the worst team, not just in the National League, but in all of baseball at 40-106. They have dropped five in a row, and eight of their last 10 outings. As you can imagine they haven't had too much success against any opponent this season. But they really haven't had any success at all against today's opponent. San Diego has taken seven of nine meetings this season alone with their division arrival. These two teams met less than a week ago as the visiting Padres took two of three games against the home team Rockies. Now San Diego returns to their own field, Petco Park where they are a very respectable, 44-27 this season. As a matter fact, they are one of the best home teams in the NL. Very simply, their offense scores more, while their pitching staff is significantly stronger than their opponent. Speaking of which, today starters are McCade Brown, and Randy Vasquez. The Rockies right-hander is winless this season, possessing a record of 0-3 with a whopping ERA of 12.54. He has made three appearances in 2025, pitching a total of a little over nine innings, and has allowed 13 earned runs. The Padres right-hander is 4-6 with a 3.91 ERA in 2025. The team has won 15 of his 23 turns this season. Just five days ago, he held Colorado to just two earned runs in 6.0 innings pitched in an eventual 10-8 San Diego victory. The Padres are hungry, and need the victories. They are certainly a better team. Take San Diego. Thank you.
