We return to Berkley where we have found success this season backing the Golden Bears of the University of California. This is a very late start for the visitors who are the Duke Blue Devils. Duke is playing the second of back-to-back road games and this one is on the west coast. Duke is coming off a big win over Syracuse defeating the Orange 38 to 3. They caught the Orange in a perfect letdown situation they had just upset the Tigers of Clemson the week before. The Devils are 0-8 ATS coming off a conference SU/ATS win, facing a conference foe that is also coming off a SU win as an underdog. We have a misleading final score which has helped us here because we believe the wrong team is favored. Our numbers have Cal as the home favorite, but we are catching three points at all the shops this morning. Cal head coach Justin Wilcox has been money at home when installed as an underdog, posting a 14-5 ATS record the last nineteen times. Cal ranks 34th nationally in total defense, allowing just 307.2 yards per game and only eighteen points per contest. Cal has only allowed a 2-5 TD/INT ratio and CB Hezekiah Masses leads the country with four interceptions. The Cal defense will pose serious problems for this Duke offense. The Devils have put up good numbers on offense, but this is a tall order for them. Our TPR Index projects a point advantage of 2.93 points in favor of the Bears. The MM projects a point differential of -5.87 points against the current line range in this contest. The SIM Matrix has the Bears with a 73.96 percent advantage against the oddsmakers number in tonight’s game.
