| NBA | (517) Los Angeles Lakers at (518) Memphis Grizzlies | 9:40pm EDT - Oct 31/2025 |
The PLAY: Total Under 233.5 (-110)
This is a FREE PLAY on the UNDER in the Lakers and the Grizzlies.
When you dive into the numbers/records/stats, we find that this is an interesting game from a number of different angles.
Both teams are 3-2 straight up. LA is 3-2 ATS overall, including 2-0 SU and ATS on the road, while Memphis is 2-1 SU and ATS at home.
The Lakers have also seen the total go OVER in all five of their games, while the Grizzlies have seen the total eclipse the number in three of their first five, but it stayed UNDER in their most recent 114-113 win at Phoenix.
LA has been playing well, obviously, as most thought that chemistry could be an issue to begin the season without LeBron James and now Luka Doncic in the lineup, but off a 116-115 win at Minnesota as a 7.5-point underdog, their second win of the year over the Wolves, the Lakers have clearly exceeded everyone's expectations to this point.
Austin Reaves has been the catalyst behind the above-average record to open the year. He most recently had 28 points and 16 assists in the win over Minnesota. So far, he's averaging 34.2 points and 10 assists per game.
At some point, though, Reaves is going to have a letdown. It'll be a combination of teams keying in on the Lakers' red-hot swingman, and double-teaming him, combined with natural small regression across the board after the unrealistic surge.
With a home game against Miami on Sunday night, will LA Reaves and the Lakers finally have a small mental letdown here?
Very possibly is the answer! That said, I still don't trust the Grizzlies to cover the mid-sized number either, and so that's why I'm keying in on the total.
The Grizz return home after the tight road win at Phoenix, and have a look-ahead game North of the border in Toronto on Sunday night.
Ja Morant had 28 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds in the victory over Phoenix, and overall, he's averaging 23.4 points per game this year for the Grizz.
I base my picks on many different things, but for the most part, I base my Over/Under releases (in every sport) on what I perceive to be a really good situation.
And that's the case here, a great overall situational play, as I foresee all of these factors contributing to help keep the overall pace down and for that to ultimately drive this total UNDER the posted number before the final horn sounds.
Good luck, NP

| NBA | (503) Golden State Warriors at (504) Milwaukee Bucks | 8:10pm EDT - Oct 30/2025 |
The PLAY: Milwaukee Bucks +2.5 (-105)
This is a FREE PLAY on the BUCKS.
Both of these non-conference teams got off to poor starts last season, so each was determined to avoid that happening this year.
Golden State is 4-1 SU/ATS, and it's off an impressive 98-79 win at home over the Clippers.
The Warriors have been playing at a very high level to open the season, and at some point, a minor letdown will happen. Now hitting the road for their first Eastern Conference matchup, I expect that to occur tonight.
Milwaukee is 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS, and it's faced some stiff competition as well, most recently beating New York here 121-111 as a two-point dog.
Now the BUCKS are the dog at home here again, and while I do think an outright win is the most likely outcome, in the end I'll recommend a second look at MILWAUKEE with the points.
Good luck, NP
