Phillies vs Brewers Analysis
After a clean sweep at home vs Pittsburgh, the Brewers travel to Philly to take on the Phillies. Philadelphia lost their last two series against the Rockies and the Marlins and is not playing great baseball.
Ranger Suarez takes the bump for the home team while Freddy Peralta will start for Milwaukee. Philly is a -125 home favorite, the run line is -1.5, and the total is set at 8 runs.
Phillies Look to Move Up From Bottom of Division
The Phillies have been disappointing to start off this season. After starting the season 3-1, the Phillies are now 5-8 and have lost their last two series. The Phillies’ offense has been solid so far, and as a team, Philly is batting .257 with 57 runs on 110 hits this season.
Ranger Suarez, the reliever, will make his third start of the 2022 season. In his previous starts, Suarez has thrown 7.2 innings and allowed five runs on 11 hits and four walks. Philadelphia has won both games that Suarez has started this season.
Brewers Build on Four Game Winning Streak
After starting out slowly, Milwaukee is finally starting to get back on track. The strength of this team has always been its pitching staff, and now that their pitchers are back to pitching at a high level, the wins are coming for Milwaukee.
However, the Brewers have one of the worse offenses in the league, and their inability to score runs could be their Achilles heel.
Freddy Peralta, one of the great starters in the Brewers’ rotation, has been horrible to start this season.
In his previous two starts, Peralta has allowed nine runs on six walks and 10 hits over just seven innings. Peralta has shown no control and has not been able to get deep into a game so far this season.
Phillies vs Brewers Prediction
While Peralta has struggled in his last two starts, he still is one of the best No. 3 starters in all of baseball. Ranger Suarez is a good opener for the Phillies, but their bullpen behind him is not great.
I am shocked the Phillies are favorites, I have the odds flipped. So, I certainly recommend the Brewers at +105 road favorites for this matchup in Philly.
Prediction: Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline (+110)
