Mets vs Braves Analysis
The Arizona Diamondbacks travel to Miami to take on the Marlins in a best of three series. Arizona is coming off a 2-2 split in their last series vs the Cardinals, and the Marlins are coming off a 2-1 series win vs the Mariners.
Zack Gallen will make the start for Arizona and Pablo Lopez will take the hill for Miami. The Marlins are -154 favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 6.5 runs.
New York Mets Preview
The New York Mets are the hottest team in baseball, and they seem to be having a ton of fun in the process. The Mets are 16-7 which is the best record in the MLB.
New York finds a variety of ways to beat you. The Mets can either out-pitch you, out hit you, or out defense you. There is no clear weakness on this team and they have been a joy to watch so far.
Chris Bassitt will make his fifth start of the season. Bassitt is 3-1 this year and has thrown 24 innings so far. In those 24 innings, Bassitt has allowed six runs on 15 hits, seven walks, and 26 strikeouts.
Atlanta Braves Preview
Atlanta has been one of the more disappointing teams through the first 25 games of the 2022 season. Atlanta has struggled against almost all opponents and is yet to sweep a series this season. Both the Braves lineup and pitching staff have been underwhelming in comparison to their expectations.
Max Fried will take the hill for Atlanta in the series opener against the Mets. Fried is 2-2 on the season through four starts.
So far this year, Fried has thrown 24 innings and has allowed 8 earned runs on 21 hits. The positives for Fried are that he has struck out 21 batters and only allowed one walk so far this season.
Mets vs Braves Prediction
The Mets are favored at home, but only slight favorites at -115. That seems like a great price to get the Mets at, and I am rolling with New York.
The Braves usually up their game when they take on New York, but I think the Mets are ready for them this year.
Bassitt has been very solid so far this season and Fried has been good, but not great. The Mets’ offense is rolling and this team has all the confidence in the world. Give me the home team as alight favorites in this matchup.
Prediction: New York Mets Moneyline (-110)
