Nationals vs Dodgers Analysis
On Wednesday afternoon, the Dodgers and the Nationals face off for the final game of a three-game series between these two teams. The Dodgers have won the previous two games in convincing fashion.
For game three, Julio Urias will start for the Dodgers and Erick Fedde will be on the mound for the Nationals. The Dodgers are -210 favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 8.5 runs.
Nationals Preview
No one is confusing the Nationals roster for the Dodgers powerhouse roster, but this series has shown just how far the Nats have fallen since their World Series run in 2019.
The Dodgers have smacked around Washington through two games and these games have not been close. Washington is now 30-14 and sits in last place in the NL East.
Erick Fedde will make the start for Washington. Fedde has started eight games so far this season and has a 4.08 ERA and a 4.54 FIP.
Fedde leaves 76.5% of base runners on base and the batting average on batted balls in play for Fedde is .286. Fedde has had some quality starts this season and is one of the better pitchers on the Nationals roster.
Dodgers Preview
The Dodgers had a short stretch of letting worse teams back into games, but Los Angeles has finally put their foot on the gas. The Dodgers are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have outscored opponents by 33 runs. Los Angeles is 29-13 and they hold a 1.5-game lead of first place in the NL West Standings.
Julio Urias will make the start for the Dodgers this afternoon against the Nationals. Urias has started eight games this season and is 3-3 on the season with a 2.63 ERA and a 4.49 FIP.
His opponent’s batting average on balls in play is .239. Urias does not do a good job of keeping the ball on the ground and 29% of the time, hitters hit the ball hard.
Nationals vs Dodgers Prediction
The Dodgers are -210 so I will not lay that outright. However, I think the Nationals can sneak a run or two in early. If the Nationals can do this, I recommend taking the Dodgers live closer to -145 or -150.
The Dodgers are rolling right now, and I would not bet against them with a weak team like Washington, so there is value in seeing if Washington scores first and taking LAD live. For more picks, check out my handicapper profile on Sportsmemo.
Live Play: Bet Los Angeles Dodgers -150 if WAS scores first
