CFB | (217) Missouri St at (218) USC | 7:30pm EDT - Aug 30/2025 |
The PLAY: USC -32.5 (-110)
This is one of the biggest mismatches in the month of August. USC is loaded with talent and looking to build off last year's finish. Missouri State, making its FBS debut, will be outclassed all over the field. Recall that the Trojans were last seen, defeating Texas A&M in the 35-31 in the Las Vega Bowl last December. The Trojans erased a 17-point deficit along the way, their biggest bowl comeback ever. Lincoln Riley commented: “In some ways it was kind of a poetic ending to the season. I’m incredibly proud of this group. The resiliency that they’ve shown. I told them there’s a toughness and a hardness developing in this program right now. You can look at a lot of different points throughout this season and certainly tonight and you see that. I have a lot of excitement about that. Our motto is ‘Fight On!’, and this team really embodies that." Last season, the Trojans began with a win over LSU and followed it up with a 48-0 drubbing of Utah State, a game they were laying -31 points for. Knowing that much tougher games lie ahead, the Trojans will take advantage of this early mismatch to build confidence with another one-sided blowout victory. *good up to -34

MLB | (901) Atlanta Braves at (902) Miami Marlins | 6:40pm EDT - Aug 26/2025 |
The PLAY: Total Under 8.0 (-113) H Waldrep (RHP), S Alcantara (RHP) Must Start
The Marlins won Monday's game by a 2-1 score. Tuesday's game has the makings of another well-pitched affair. While it's a small sample size, Waldrep has been lights out for the Braves. Through four appearances, three starts, he's 4-0 with a 0.73 ERA. Last time out, he delivered seven shutout innings. That was on the heels of six shutout innings, in his previous start. Those games finished with scores of 1-0 and 2-0. I mentioned that I thought he had “turned the corner” and Alcantara came through for us in his last start. He allowed one run in seven innings, after allowing one run in six innings in his previous start. Prior to that, Waldrep and Alcantara opposed each other, at Atlanta. Waldrep was sharp but Alcantara wasn't. (The Braves won 7-1.) Pitching at home, where he's been much better than on the road, Alcantara should be better in Tuesday's rematch. Go with the under.
Ben Burns is SportsMemo's reigning football champion. Ben finished #1 in profit, #1 in win percentage AND #1 in ROI.

MLB | (953) Philadelphia Phillies at (954) New York Mets | 7:10pm EDT - Aug 25/2025 |
The PLAY: Philadelphia Phillies -109 C Sanchez (LHP), K Senga (RHP) Must Start
The Phillies have been playing better baseball than the Mets for many weeks. With a starter in better current form, they should have an edge in Monday's series opener. Cristopher Sánchez struck out 12 batters in his last start. He's 11-4 with a 2.46 ERA on the season and he's got a 2.19 ERA and 1.01 WHIP over his past seven starts, averaging a full seven innings per. Over the past two months, Sánchez has a 1.95 ERA. Senga also has very good season long stats. However, he's struggled recently. He lost at Washington in his last start, giving up four runs in five innings. Over his past seven starts, Senga is now 0-2 with a poor 5.23 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. Let's go Phillies
