The Wolfpack make the short trip to Winston-Salem where they will take on the Deacons of Wake Forest. These two have split the last ten meetings with the road team taking the last two of those. In 2023 NC State won 26 to 6 in Winston-Salem and last year the Deacons went on the road to Raliegh and defeated NC State 34 to 30. NC State outgained Wake Forest by more than 100 yards and had seven more first downs last season, but the Deacons rallied from a double-digit deficit in the final ten minutes to shock the Pack and grab the win. We are not sold on the Deacons new coaching staff with a new head coach who has never worked with his coordinators before. The Deacons game last week against Western Carolina took more than six hours to complete following a pair of weather delays with one of those in each half of the game. New head coach Dickert admitted it had been a marathon to get to the end of that one. Now they must prepare for a conference rival on a short week and not only that but facing a team seeking to avenge last seasons loss a game in which they certainly feel like they should have won. The TPR Index projects a point advantage of 11.61 points in favor of the Wolfpack. The SIM Matrix has the Pack with a 68.4 percent advantage against the oddsmakers number in tonight’s game.
