The PLAY: Cleveland Guardians -138 R Detmers (LHP), B Lively (RHP) Must Start
The LA Angels are on the road in Cleveland this weekend playing a three-game series against the host Guardians. At the time of this writing Game One of the series on Friday has not been played so we do not know the outcome of that contest. We know coming into Game One on Friday the Angels had lost six of their last seven games overall and five of the last six played on the road. Cleveland had lost three of their last four coming into Friday’s game. Cleveland has won 13 of its last 14 played at home against Los Angeles. Los Angeles starting pitcher Reid Detmers has been roughed up in each of the last two outings, allowing fifteen hits and nine runs in just twelve innings of work. Los Angeles lost both of those games. In three starts this season, Cleveland’s Ben Lively has allowed twelve hits and four runs in 15.2 innings while striking out nineteen and walking just three. The TPR Index projects a run advantage of 1.42 runs. The SIM Matrix has the Cleveland Guardians with a 58.4 percent advantage against the oddsmakers number in tonight’s contest. The Guardians have the edge on the bump and at the plate in this one so we will back the home team on Saturday night as the Guardians take Game Two over the Angels.
